Turbocharge Your Sales Outreach with the Right Tools

If you're still manually finding leads, researching them, writing emails from scratch, and sending them out using your old Gmail account, you're missing out big time. You could be sending out more than ten times the amount of cold emails with the same quality by using the right tools. These tools help you scale up your outbound process, allowing you to send high-quality emails quickly to the right people, essentially creating an email machine that does all the prospecting, enriching, researching, writing, and sending for you.

Finding the Right Leads

The first step in the outbound process is finding people you want to reach out to. There are several ways to find leads, but here are the main ones:

  • Apollo

  • LinkedIn Sales Navigator

  • Crunchbase

These three sources cover most B2B businesses you can think of. Combined, they can map out your entire total addressable market. Additionally, there are other sources for efficient lead sourcing, like Store Leads for e-commerce or Apify for Instagram. If you find a list online you want to scrape, such as "Top 100 Businesses in Kansas City for Trash Disposal," use the Clay Chrome extension to scrape and import the leads into a table for enrichment.

Setting Up Email Accounts

Once you have your leads, you'll need email accounts to send your cold emails. It's crucial not to use your daily email account for this. Google might shut down your account if you're flagged as a spammer, and your domain could be blacklisted. Instead, set up separate email accounts specifically for cold outreach using Microsoft 365 or the Gmail Suite. Consider hiring someone from Upwork to help with deliverability and sequencing.

To send thousands of cold emails at scale, you can't rely on just one email account. Use one email account for every 30 emails per day and one domain for every two email accounts.

Crafting Effective Email Copy

After finding and enriching your leads, it's time to write your email copy. Use Twain, an AI tool that reviews your copy and suggests improvements for better conversion and response rates.

Sending Out Messages

With your copy ready, emails set up, and prospects found and enriched, it's time to send out your messages. The tool you use depends on your outreach channel:

Email Outreach

For email, use Instantly or Smartlead. Instantly is easier for beginners, while Smartlead is great for agencies. Both are excellent tools with their own pros and cons.

LinkedIn Outreach

LinkedIn outreach is risky as LinkedIn doesn't favor mass messaging. You need personalized, relevant messages and a tool that operates under the radar. HeyReach is recommended for this, endorsed by industry experts like Michelle Liban.

Hybrid Outreach

For campaigns combining LinkedIn and cold email, use Lemlist or La Growth Machine. These tools also support Twitter outreach, integrating multiple platforms into your campaigns.
